Access a growing digital library of over 200 Rinzai Zen instructional videos, dharma talks, podcasts, chanting recordings, and more, with new resources added monthly. You'll also gain access to Korinji's private online discussion forum, where our teacher and senior members answer questions: a great place to connect with our international community. Your monthly donation provides instant access to all these benefits.
Virtual Retreats & Events
One of the benefits available to our Patreon members is virtual participation in monastery events like Zen retreats (sesshin), dharma talks, Q&A sessions with Meido Roshi, and important ceremonies. You'll have the chance to join with us from a distance, meditate and chant together with the monastery trainees, receive teachings to guide your practice, and get to know members of our community from around the world.
Online Meditation Meetups
Patreon members are invited to attend online zazen (formal, seated meditation) meetups with members of our community. No discussion is had: these are meetups for serious practice. A moderator will begin and end meditation sessions. Afterward the online group may chant a short Zen text, like the Heart Sutra, together. Though not the same as practicing together in real space, we hope you will enjoy this virtual connection and use it to support your home practice.
Prayer Requests
A daily ceremony is conducted at Korinji for our members and the fulfillment of their prayers. We also conduct monthly Goma — mikkyo fire ritual — and you may request a prayer board with your wishes to be burned in the fire on behalf of yourself, another person, or someone who has passed away. Please inquire to request either of these. If you are able, please make a donation according to your means to support the monastery - but no one is turned away.
Children's Shrine
At Korinji we maintain a shrine for mizuko: infants or embryos in circumstances of sudden infant death, stillbirth, or pregnancy termination through miscarriage or abortion. Images of Jizo, a bodhisattva who protects children, are placed there for each, and prayers made for all involved. If you would like to dedicate a Jizo image to be kept in this shrine - anonymously or with a name that we can inscribe - we will be happy to do so. You can purchase such an image here and it will be sent to us automatically.
